We are looking for the name of a breed that we were told was a GERMAN MASTIFF they are a very big dog, have like a Lion mane neck, long haired, Alsation colouring, the face looking like a St Bernard (a flatish snout).
As we are looking to buy such a dog but are unable to find a breeder under the name given to us.

We do hope that someone can help in our search.

My e-mail address is presleyroger@hotmail.com

Thanks
Roger

What country are you in Roger ?

In some countries the Great Dane is known as the German Mastiff - although this doesnt fit with your description

Lel is right, but the Gt Dane is nothing like your description which is apart from the colour the description of a Leonberger.

This breed was developed in Leonberg in Germany and is or was a cross between a Newfoundland and a St Bernard. Put the word Leonberger into a search engine and have a look at the pictures. Or look here mind you it is not a good picture for your purpose.

You description is like a leonberger, the colour is similar to a GSD (black and tan) and not in the same way, its hard to explain!!!
