I am interested in getting an Alaskan malamute pup in the near future, I have researched into the breed and regularly visit a local man who has a male mal and has informed me all about the breed and what to expect. I understand the patience need to own such a fine breed.  My only problem is that all the breeders seem to be very far from where I live ( I live in Buckinghamshire). The nearest seems to be in Buckingham but the website is quite poor in giving information about thier breeds and seems constantly under construction.

I would like to find a close breeder as I am unable to travel very long distances it make me feel quite ill. I also dont want to travel hundreds of miles and put a pup through the same journey. Do breeders offer to meet half way or even bring the pup to you? Of course this would be once I have visit the litter and confirmed all.

I hope that I can get some advice from this posting.

Hi Angel,

Most breeders are in the North of England, the lady in Buckingham that you mentioned is very knowledgable about the breed and if you have any questions you can call her and talk to her about the dogs (as far as I am aware, she doesn't even own a computer, the website was set up by someone else, so your best bet is to give her a call and see if you can go over and meet her and her dogs.)

Why don't you register? There are several mal owners who come onto the boards who will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. Just make sure that when you do look for a pup, that both the sire and the dam have been hip scored and eye checked.
