Dear All,

I am writing to ask for some advice really I bought a puppy at the end of last year for £600.00 in and he was sold to me as a KC Registered Dog.  To date I have received no papers - the Breeders are extremely evasive and defensive when asked where his paperwork is.  My boy is adorable and I would not part with him for the world but the point of the matter is I paid £600.00 for a KC Registered Puppy and he is not.

What can I do?

i have spoken with the Kennel Club whohave informed me to go to Trading Standards and that no puppies have EVER been registered by my puppy's Dam.  He has an excellent pedigree my boy and everyone finds it totally strange that the Breeders are not registering the litter.

The more people I speak to the more bad things I keep hearing.

I just think that people ought to be really really careful and when buying a puppy ask for a contract of what you are buying.  I travelled 4 hours to go to Cambridge to buy my puppy as I live in Berkshire and

I have found the entire experience totally upsetting.  Breeders like these are bringing shame on the breed and all good people associated with it.

Do you have anything in writing which states that you were buying a KC Reg puppy? Were the puppies advertised somewhere as KC Reg? If so, you should have a good case if you go to your local Trading Standards. Even if you don't have anything in writing, it is still worth contacting them. The chances are that the breeders haven't registered the litter because one or both of the parents aren't registered, so they can't register the litter. do you have any proof that the pedigree you have is genuine?  You could try contacting one of the BM breed clubs. Don't suppose this breeder is a member, but on the offchance they are, the breed club may be able to help.
Sorry you've had such a bad experience, but buying a puppy is just like buying anything else for a lot of money - sadly, you can't just take people's word for what they are stating.
Hope you get some satisfaction as breeders like this shouldn't get away with deceiving the unwary.
