Dear All, by now many of you know me and my male staff Bobby.  Well my friend and owner of Bobby's best buddy (Sammy the Dally) picked up a Vizsla puppy last week, and all 3 dogs are getting on very well and the bigger boys are being so very gentle with wee Jackson and are not bothered with him jumping all over them, nibbling them and barking in their faces ;-)
He is essentially a good little pooch, however we are puzzled by his sex drive at such an early age:  He is 8 weeks old and is getting highly frisky with peoples legs etc and goes into full 'humping' mode, and gets very frustrated when you stop him.  Is this normal??  and any hints or tips to curb the 'humping'??  Appreciate your help! ;-)

It has nothing to do with sex it is just excitement, bitches do it to; just distract him with something more attractive.

It's perfectly normal. Just make sure you distract him into doing something else before it becomes a habit & he becomes an embarrassment. Make it clear to him it's not acceptable behaviour towards people. If he does it to the other dogs, they'll soon tell him off when he's a bit bigger.

Hey, My puppy beat yours by a week, 7 weeks old and doing what comes naturally, I know its too much information, but imagine sitting on loo, shaking 7 week old lab retriver off your leg,

Obi was humping from 6.5 weeks!  Stopped after a week or two when he realised it was unacceptable, but started again a week ot two ago (now nearly 6 months), think it may be a wee bit sexual now, especially when someone had their Lab over the park in full season, luckily she was on the lead, and I quickly picked up on the signs, not sure I fancy the idea of ACD X Lab pups!
