We went on holiday to Cornwall last week and towards the end of the week noticed that Molly (working cocker 10 months) had lost a lot of weight due to all the extra exercise she was getting. She was always a slim dog anyway (people would constantly remark that she looked underweight even though the vet said her physique was ideal) but she was starting to look like a Whippet / Cocker cross! (Whipper?! :D:). So we have started to give her a bit more food (Burns Lamb and Rice) and treats (smelly Burns Ocean Bites) and to add coconut oil to her food to build her up. Next time we go on holiday, should we feed her extra or should we maybe switch to a working dog food like Burns Active for couple of weeks? Also this was Molly's first holiday and although she loved the walks and swimming, she spent the whole time looking really worried and clinging to us like glue - I think she thought we were going to dump her somewhere! She is normally very friendly, but became very wary of other people and would even shy away from them when they tried to stroke her, and even barked at one man who approached her (who admittedly was dressed very strangely). She is normally pretty hyper but behaved perfectly on holiday, sitting quietly under the table in pubs, etc, which isn't like her at all. And she seemed nervous around other dogs when she usually is very outgoing. I couldn't work out if the holiday was unsettling her or whether she had got to the 'tigers under the bed' stage. Any ideas, please? No one (human or dog) has been nasty to her to cause her to behave like this. Thanks everyone.
