We have had our cavalier just over 2 weeks and he has developed a rash on his genitals. He hasn't got fleas, and does'nt have contact with other dogs as he's terrified. Any ideas before i take him to the vets. He keeps biting and itching but i keep checking hm for fleas and he's definately not got any.

Could he have been stung by nettles or something similar?

my dog had an itchy rash on her lower stomach. this was due to her getting wet and not being dried well enough by me. the vet gave me a spray and that fixed it.

Could it be your washing powder ? Just a thought

Just an update

We took Chess to the vets and he said that the rash looks like its going and that possible he had fleas when we got him(not had him long) and that when we were giving him a bath with his shampoo that had cleared them up and thats why i hadn't seen any. He also said that if that wasn't the case it could just be an allergic reaction to something, either way its going. So thanks for your advice.
