hi everyone,
im hoping you can help with my very recent problem.
Storm my 7 month old bully has all of a sudden become very scared and timid(nothing has happened to her to make her like this)
Its been brewing for a week or so,we took her to a show on sunday and although she did win her group she was so jumpy and nervous, her ears constantly back(not forward in the correct position)every little sound she was jumpy of.
She is even scared of her food bowl!, if she happens to push it whilst eating and it scrapes along the floor she will run off!!!(and believe me nothing usually comes between her and meal time!)
I took her to school to pick the kids up and she refused to walk through the shopping precinct(where we always go)she just refused to move......WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!
It has only been like this for a week or so,what should i do next?
Do i take her out as normal and make her do the day to day things we have always done or do i back off everything for abit till she gets over it?
Im sure this problem has been up on champdogs before, saying its just one of the hormone growing stages in puppyhood but this just isnt like her!!!!usually she is the bolshy, livewire rogue not afraid of anything!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE HELP WITH ADVICE

                                       sam

Hiya dont panic!!!! Bullmastiffs can some times go this way ! now she could be coming into heat??
it could be teeth/ but this does happen just help her through it dont get upset with her and dont make a big fuss of her just jolly her on her way as if nothing is wrong take some nice titbits out with you and do some sits and downs  on the way and give a nice treat.

It has been described as "Tigers under the bed"  and does come with their age. Where they become frightened or wary of things that dont usually bother them.
Rest assured it does pass :)

Hi Sam,

Macy is also going throught this, though we are coming out the other side now. As the others say just keep going as if nothing is happening lots of jollying along but not too much fuss, i have tended to ignor Macy when she starts and i try to just keep walking and use my voice in a happy positive way (a few treats also help). As for the bowl, try putting it on a towel then it can't move too much and make a noise.
Good luck, see you at the Southern.
Karen.

hi karen,
How long did this phase last for?(hopefully not too long)
I have been trying to ignore her fearful behaviour but she is such a weight when she doesnt want to move she wont!!not even my hubby can shift her and he is no lightweight himself!
Will see you there at southern,we have the bbl this week,so i hope she isnt too fearful there!
See you next week,

Macy, is still a little fearful, but she does get over it. At the show on Sunday she was abit funny at first but i stood her by the ring so she could just watch what was going on and people could talk to her and by the time it was our turn in the ring she was fine, back to her usual outgoing self. It seems to have been going on for about 3/4 weeks. (I think its part of the Kevin stages - whats next i ask myself)
Good luck on Sunday.
Karen.
