We have three lab dogs all chocolate. Two of them have thicker coats, they UK labs. I want to know if the thin silky coat on our other dog has a specific name? thank-you Jane Heintzman

Hi some chocs do lack undercoat, which is probably why one has a sleeker silkier coat. I dont know if there is an actual name for it, someone else may. Labs should have a "double coat" -longer rougher hairs on top and shorter slightly "fluffier coat" underneath. This is make them waterproof and to stay warmer in and out of the water when working.
