Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Red Mills Breeder - Amount?

Well, our little 10 week old SBT man arrived home on Saturday, and he's a darling. He's been so good, but I'm still completely nervous and worried about everything. I'm like one of those paranoid first-time mothers who freaks out at every little thing, so I've a couple of questions:

Our breeder gave us a weeks worth of Red Mills Breeder for him, and he told us to give him 3 cups of soaked pellets, spilt over 3 meals a day. I'm using a mug, and, once soaked, it seems...rather a lot. His faeces were fine yesterday, but he just had the major runs in the garden after his dinner just now, and his tummy is very bloated looking and solid to the touch. Is this normal? Am I feeding too much? I'd ring the breeder, but he's away, and the Red Mills is just in a plain plastic bag with no instructions. The Red Mills website is no help!

A mug is about twice the size of a cup so you are over feeding the pup.  3 cups is more than I would have expected anyway.

Thanks Joan. I think I'll phone up the Red Mills people or try to get a bag of it tomorrow...
