my 5yr old dog is so moody and grumpy!
if i go to cuddle him, he grumbles and growls.
If i move him off the settee he growls.
when i dry his belly and feet he growls!

i think you can see where this is going!!

whats wrong with him, we have had him all his life!
Is he spoilt??

Maybe he has something wrong with him and is in pain?  I'd take him to the vet to get him checked over to make sure he's in good health.

Some dogs "talk" in grumbles. Are you sure that isn't what he's doing? Does he ever snap at you or is it just growls & grumbles?

Bradley talks in grumbles,  sounds abit like chew backer, hw always likes to let you know if there are birds in the sky and if they are ducks quaking he goes into a frenzy.  Ah bless him
