A Terramundi is an Etruscan money Amphora (traditional piggy bank), I was given one for my birthday, and decided to save £1 and £2 coins in it. We've opened it today and just counted £747.00 !!
TerramundiSo that's a new cooker and combi microwave paid for :D :D
Just started another one to help pay for a new bathroom.

Blimey thats brilliant
I would have spent mine before it was half full :D :)

Wow its amazing when you do that. At least you can get something new and not have to worry about finding money! How would currys like it if you paid for your gods in £1 and £2 coins????
LOL
Rox
:D I'll let you know tomorrow Rox ;)
The secret of them is lel, you have to break the pot to get at the dosh, so no 'borrowing' is allowed :)

Hi Liberty,
Im not sure how you have broken yours but with all mine we have prised the top of with a large screwdriver and if all goes well we re-use firmly sealing the lid with superglue or if it cracks more than expected they make good indoor plant pots etc
Lorraine

Are you on commission Liberty? - cos I just ordered 3 :D - one for me, two to put away for my sisters for Christmas.
(Christmas?!?! - I can hear the groans, sorry, but if I didn't do it now I'd forget! Bet there'll be a sad Champdogger somewhere who started even earlier than me though.)
M.
Sadly not Marina, wish I was though :D As for Christmas, yup, I've already got 2 presents put away already :D :D
Lorraine, I used a hammer and chisel to 'pop' the top off, and I'm going to use it as a plant pot :D

That'll be me then Brihow Collies!!!! But only because a certain show ticket came out in January and I wanted to buy it as a Christmas present for my in-laws! :)
What's the point of having a piggy bank you can't get at? Would be no use for a shopaholic like me! :D

Great idea - thanks! I've just ordered one for the small change and one for £1 & £2 coins. But I think I'll be smashing mine when they're full - that must be half the fun :D
To get the maximum financial satisfaction from them, you need to cram the £1's in, jiggling and wriggling, as the pots are all individual, and the coin slot can be higher or lower in some.
Sis-in-law only managed a paltry £550 from hers, me thinks too eager to get to the dosh :D

That is quite impressive. I have had one for some while now and having just jiggled it would guesstimate that I have about £3.50 in there! I would never have guessed it would hold anywhere near that and thought perhaps £200 was nearer the mark. This might now inspire me to save a bit more often. Are all the pots the same size?

Ok, you're all tempting me to go and buy one now! I see they have stores in my area that sell them, so I might be tempted to go and have a look. I put money on it though if I do buy one that it's opened before it's full!!!

How dissapointing..........I thought it was a new game :D

It could end up like that Sandra - trying to get the coins out the container without breaking it! :D
