My bitch is 4 weeks pregnant, is it usual to go of their food at this stage?

yes, this can be common, even as early as 4 weeks. you may have to use something tempting to entice your bitch to eat, perhaps some boiled fish, mince, tripe, or whatever seems to do the trick (we use cheap tinned cat food, mixed in with her normal biscuit food) this usually tempts them into eating :-)
