hi all
on thursday of last week i heard that a family were moving away and that if no one took on there 'mad' dog she would be left in the barn for the council to sort out. i was outraged and so on friday i turned up gave them £60 which is what they wanted for the dog and took her home.
Meg is a 7yrs old dalmatian bich and is the sweetest thing i have ever seen. she was starving, dirty, scared and lonely but in the 6 days i have had her she has blossomed. she is good with my other dogs and around our small holding of sheep, cattle, pigs and horses with is fab.
i have had her fully vetted ect and although skinny and a few scars she is fine.
i have her kc papers and i want to find out more about her.
i also want to know the best food for a dal as i understand that they are quite greedy and will eat everything is site. she is not very energic yet but i suppose that will come and she wont leave my side.
i want to get her fit and was wondering if dals compete in agility or obedince, not properly just to keep her stimulated and young.
has anyone else gone through this as i want to make it as stress free as possible. if anyone owns a dal already and has info that could help me as well that would be of a great help.
she is with me until the end of her days now as i think she deserves a break.
any replies would be greatly appreciated.
many thanks
Nonny
