It's my 21st birthday soon and I have absolutely no idea how to celebrate?  Do I have a party with lots of people, some of who I don't particularly like, or keep it low key with just my close friends and family?  Or maybe I should have something seperate for friends and then do something with my family.
What did everyone else do?

I went out in my local town, had a great night, got really drunk, messed around and had the mother of all hang-overs the next morning :D , you need to do what you want to do for your 21st, not what everyone else wants to do, what ever you do though, i hope you really enjoy yourself.  :D

I had two separate do's - one with friends and the other with family. It would have been too tense any other way and I'd have hated it!

I had a surprise party in my local with friends and some family.  Unfortunately my friends didnt think about family arriving and put up some very compromising posters of me all round the pub :D :D

I had a great big party, family and friends...music and a buffet.
It was great to see my family memebers alll dancing with my friends (most of who were bikers, hairy, leathers etc)
A good time was had by all...especially me.

I'm thinking now that I might have a barbecue at home, with all my really good friends and my parents and sister.  That way it's everyone I really want to be there.  And then go out to my local later where I'll see everyone else I know.
Hopefully the weather should be alright by then!  I can't wait :)

Hi Rachael ,two weeks after my 21st i left my first husband so it was not a particularly happy time for me (i made up for it not long after though) so it was a case of celebrating my 21/1/2 birthday ,i spent it in Greece with new man in my life and friends ...all that & a tan ..lol ! when is your birthday ? my eldest daughter is 21 in May ,the same day as our Wedding anniversary (20 years this year ),we got married on her first birthday , she is spending the weekend with us & her sister ,we are going to France ! ,then she is off to Scotland to celebrate with friends there (that will be a good one the Scots sure know how to party !) then she is back home for another party with her friends here !!! bit of a birthday week really ,whatever you do ,enjoy it all & do what YOU want to do .....after all you are only 21 once !!! lol Take care Sue & Lola xx

My birthday is the 4th May.
I really wanted to go to New York but it's just too expensive, and as most of my friends are still students, nobody could afford it!
I'm recently single too, so lets home I meet a lovely new man for my bday too :)

Do people still celebrate 21st's ? I hope not - my son will be 21 in July :D When I was 21 - (no 18th then) we just had a meal out with the family. Don't even remember any of my friends having parties. Mostly, just had a good time at the pub :)
