Can anyone offer me advice, i have a 10mth Bullmastiff bitch, who is out of control on the lead. She walks in front of me swapping sides continuously. She pulls so hard i skid on the grass. She has an attention span of 3 seconds whilst we are out walking. In the home she does as she is told, but once the lead goes on she has a personality change!
Please help before i end up in A & E with a dislocated shoulder.

Hi, sorry your having problems with your bullmastiff, there's nothing worse than a large dog pulling on the lead.
I have bullmastiffs so hopefully i can try and help. It will take time and you may not get very far on your walks for the first few weeks, but here goes. When you set out on your walk have your girl on your left hand side (make your lead short so she can't walk in front of you) the minuet she starts to pull, turn around in a small circle and walk the other way, you need to do this everytime she starts to pull, eventually she will get the idea that to walk forward in a straight line she hasn't to pull. Like i say it will take time and people may look at you in a strange way but it does work. For got to say lots a praise and treats, when she does what you want even if its only a few steps.
Good luck.
If i can help in any way please feel free to email me.
Karen.
