Our 8 year old bitch westie has recently started to lick and chew all 4 paws to the degree that her fur has been removed in that region and her paws are red. We have recently has our garden pebble stoned ( removing the grass ). Would this cause such an allergy ? Someone has recently mentioned that there may be a residue of lime on the stones themselves. What can you advise ?

It can be one of a million things :(
have you creosoted/painted/varnished any of your fencing/gates outside when you have done the garden?
Have you changed washing powder or distinfectants in the home ?
It can also be dust mites/flea allergy/grass allergy and more :(
Boredom or stress :(
