Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew a good boarding kennels in Yorkshire? I live in Leeds but will travel anywhere in Yorks to know my boys will be well cared for.

I live in Yorkshire and yes Danewalk are good, but so are Brierley Boarding Kennels, they care enought to cook pasta and chicken and whatever for the dogs.... mine are very well looked after when they go there.
Mine are a very hard breed to kennel as they dont respond well, but this particular kennel take my rescue dogs too.  Danewalk have some very large stable type kennels which are very good if you have several dogs to kennel.  If you need the phone number of either then please let me know. I live in the area and can let you have both.

We are in Leeds (North West) and take ours to Carlton Kennels (owned by Patsy Hollings of Gunalt Weimeraners) out by the airport. Really nice staff - dogs are happy to go there and always come back well and happy!

Thanks for all your suggestions. I've looked at Danewalk on the internet and I really liked the look of it, do you know if Danewalk or Brierley have an exercise area in which it's safe to let dogs off the lead? I would rather they had a mad run around then walking on a lead. Also, all the kennels I've looked at have really small runs which seem too small to kennel my two dogs in together, so the 'stable' kennel sounds promising! Lynn, if you could give me the number for Brierley that would be great thanks.

Danewalk has a BIG grass enclosed run where the dogs can have a romp or a play with staff.  The proprietor is an old freind of mine and was an instructor at my dog training school before she moved oop there. A nicer, kinder person you couldn't wish to meet.  Hampshire's loss was Yorkshire's gain.

Hi, Both brierley and danewalk have large outside grassed runs for the dogs to be let loose in.  The stable kennels are at danewalk and I booked my 3 weims in there last yr.  They were very well looked after.  Brierley has a couple of big kennels and reasonable sized runs attached but not quite big enough for 3 large weimaraners and their beds and feeding stands etc.... lol.  I am more than happy to leave my weims at brierley for a long weekend but for a longer period I would go to danewalk.

Brierley phone number is 01226 711207
Danewalk phone number is  01977 674379

Hope this helps
