Hi everyone

This is my first post on ChampDogs - you all seem to have lots of sound advice to offer, so I hope someone can help me out...

Maisy, our CKCS pup (her first BD next week!) is usually a good girl, bit of a rascal at times but is generally v well behaved.  She's been crate trained from the very beginning; there's been hardly any barking when she's put in there at bedtime - until this week!

There's been no change in her routine - by the time she goes to bed, she's been walked, had supper, lots of plays & cuddles, with some "lets wind down" rawhide chewing just before actually going to bed & a final wee in the back garden.  I've even pulled her crate further away from the radiator just in case she was getting a bit warm - to no avail.  The barking starts before I'm even half way up the stairs - we usually let her shout away for 5 mins until one of us goes down & tells her in a stern, low voice to "button it, it's bedtime" - this has worked in the past but not this week.  Last nights episode lasted until nearly midnight - over an hour! - in the end I let her out into the garden & she did another wee.  I reckon that had she just dropped off quickly like she normally does, she wouldn't have needed to go - but i can't work out when the "i'm being noisy cos you're all upstairs & i'm down here" turned into "i need a wee!"  The neighbours must want to murder us in our beds & the whole household is getting v ratty - fellow dogowneers, can you help?!
