Hi all

As a newbie to this site (addicted already!) and a massive Dobermann enthusiast I thought just for a bit of light-hearted fun for all it would be nice for people to share what their Dobermann's names are, as I love hearing about them and am interested what others are called plus their pedigree names.  To start things off:

Our little dobe is called Tag (ped name: "Just Jamie") a black and tan who is 13 weeks old, and his grandparents decend from the Roanoke clan - (Jimmy Richardson's) Roanoke Gambler was his grandad.   Anyway we decided on the name Tag whilst watching Friends.  Way before we got him we were watching the episode where Rachel (sorry if your not a Friends fan by the way :D) got her own assistant for her job and his name was "Tag".  I remember saying at the time - what a brilliant name that would be for a dog.... the rest, as they say, is history!!!!

Mand
x

PS.  Do feel free to share your dogs name even if its not a Dobie too :D :D

My 2 year old Boxer dog is called Glazby which comes from the name Paul Glazby who happens to be me and the OH's favourite Hard House DJ's name!!  We went and saw him play at a club in London a couple of months ago and told him that we'd named our dog after him and he actually gave us a mention whilst he was dj'ing!!!

My OH is a dj too and so we have a rather large set up of decks in our living room and Glazby likes to sleep behind them!!  :-)

Bless!  Thats an unusual name - I love hearing about where names derive from because there is usually a story to go with it.  I love Boxers too as my friend has had three before and all of they have really nice natures to them.

My dogs are Molly, Ruby and Tizer.
Molly and Ruby are both red staffies and Tizer is a brindle lurcher.
My sister's brown and tan dobie is called Chloe.
I've never met any other Tizer's before, so I love his name and it just really suits him!

I have two Tibetan Terriers called Tara, because I thought it sounded wild, gypsyish and freespirited. Like her. And her daughter is called Safi, which means good looking, in some African language. I heard it on 'Big Cat Diary' on BBC2 a few weeks ago. She was called Sapphire which was shortened to 'Saffy' but I prefer the newer spelling and meaning.

Our toy poodle is called Roxy - after the Rocky Horror Picture Show ... well she was going to be Rocky if she'd been a boy, but I had to adapt it to suit the occasion!  I thought a big butch name like Rocky for a dainty little toy poodle was cute.  Her KC name is (Kennel Name, which I can't remember) Star of Chicago as CZJ character in the musical Chicago is called Roxy. :D

I've got Lily, 2yr old brown brindle Staff and her 2 sons: Marmaduke (black and white pied) and Beetle (brown brindle).  The boy's sire is Oscar (pet name).

My Scottie is called Millie Noo Noo!!!  We could think of lots of Scottish boys names (Jock, Douglas, Angus) but couldn't think of any Scottish girls name.  I jokingly said one night I was going to call her Noo, short for 'Och Aye The Noo'.  We got the giggles, and kept saying 'Noo Noo' all night. (This was before we had even visited her) It began to stick, and by the next morning we were having conversations like "When we have Noo Noo...", "When we go and see Noo Noo on Saturday..." so I told my OH that we were going to have to pick a name and pick it quickly or she would be stuck with the name Noo Noo forever.  So we chose Millie, but decided it would be Millie Noo Noo for short...;-)

We do call her Noo Noo sometimes, and she answers to it, and in fact most of the family call her it in conversation which is funny to hear.  My mum sends me an email everyday asking "How's Noo Noo?"

Lol, my OH was going to be sent on the mission to get her tag done, but I put a stop to this when he said he was going to ask for it to say "Millie Noo Noo"!!

How can you top Noo Noo? Do people occasionally think shes named after a tellttubby? :D Morse is named after his black and white dotty pattern ( originally called CHarlie but it wouldnt do when the locals have dogs called Karma, Cobra, Jade and JC) but if I had a pound for every time Ive been asked " Wheres Lewis?" or greeted by " Ah heres the Inspector!" Id be buying my Gordon Setter next week. :D

Oh yes, isn't it the hoover or something? :-D.  OH got the pretend hump on her first vet visit when they called out "Millie S****" (insert real surname ;)) and said "you should have told them its Millie Noo Noo not Millie S****!"

What great names you have all given your dogs!  I love the one about Millie Noo Noo and little sprout.... so funny.  When we got our Dobies name tag done the bloke thought we were having a laugh asking for "Tag" to be put on the tag - he just didn't get it that Tag was the name of the dog :D.... he thought we were winding him up!!
