Has anyone fed either of these foods to their dog/s? I couldn't get to Crufts this year & they had a stand. The foods sound just the sort of thing Curtis might take too but I'd like to hear from anyone who might tried them?

i fed fromm before i went raw. the fromm is very energy dense and it put weight on my oldest very quickly, you need to feed very small amounts. i know a lot of people feed their working huskies on eagle pack and think it is one of the best foods around.

Thanks Scratchy,
It was this company who had a stand at Crufts. I have contacted them & they have suggested 2 foods for Curtis but as they are pricey, I'd rather see what others thought before commiting to buying a 15kg bag.

imo the fromm adult gold is about the best dry feed in the country (big praise as i have fed most), it uses only human grade ingredients (only the adult gold mind you although the others are very good to) and you can actually eat it yourself (it is part of the guys sales pitch ,munching on the stuff lol).it is not as expensive as it first seeems as you feed less of it.

We've fed our sibes on eaglepak power during the working season for a couple of years now and usually change to fromm adult gold during the summer. Ours really like both and do well on them. They are relatively expensive, but the probiotics seem to help one of ours that used to be a bit sensitive every now and again on their previous food, so I think it's worth paying a bit extra.
We've always had good service from Postal Pets too, but if they have a stockist near you you might be able to get it cheaper.

you get what you pay for imo! i see plenty of dogs at work fed on cheap supermarket rubbish and you can see a real difference when feeding a better quality food,

I agree. Having fed Nutro to Mia I would readily swap Curtis onto this, which I consider a reputable make, but he won't eat it!
Thanks for the info. What brands of Fromm/Eagle Pack have you tried? I want one to put weight on Curtis, he doesn' ever carry a great deal and 5 days off his food with 2 of the girls in season, hasn't helped! :(

mine had the fromm adult gold and it put eright on my oldest fairly quickly, he is a very lazy dog, especially for a siberian. you could try this or the fromm perfomance, which is even more energy dense. other siberian folk feed the eagle pack power.

I feed Burns at the moment, and my two are thin. The youngest 14months has not alot of body to her, I would like to see more development but don't want her fat. Does any with experience of this food think Fromm or Eagle would help ? Is it as good or better quality than Burns ? There coats gleam, and they are full of health & energy...so obviously I don't want to lose this. Does it make them hyper ?

I fed Curtis on Burns for a while and it didn't suit him at all. The "Adult" brand is too low in fat for my liking so I fed the "Canine Active". Even though it's branded as a easily digestable food, he was loose with it more often that not. A friend put her dog onto it to help with an itchy skin...the dog still scratched...Burns said to just cut the portions down!
I'm waiting to hear back from Postal Pets about ordering a bag of Fromm Performance or Eaglepack Power. Another I found suited Curtis was Franks Pro Gold - www.franksprogold.co.uk

I spoke to a really helpful chap at Postal pets and he recommended Fromm Gold Adult for both dogs, so I am going to give it a try as I am down to my last few days of Burns Canine Extra. I am hopeful it will improve things.
