Hi
I have a 12 week old spaniel called abbie and im am wondering what her sleep requirements are.At the moment she go's to bed at 11pm and we get up at 7am i dont know if she sleeps all night but during the day she will only sleep for about two hours and thats only short naps. She is crated for a couple of hours at 10.30 till 12.30 then i bring her out to play, excercise and have her food and put her back in the crate at 3.30 when i get my daughter from school. She doesn't sleep in the crate and comes out at 5.30 again for play and food she will fall asleep about 7 but thats it is this ok or does she need more and how can i do this? thanks

ps new to this board and just seen the post about vaccinating abbie has had hers but i was not to sure that she needed one every year but she will need to go to boarding kennels for 2 weeks a year when i visit my mum in spain.Feel my hands are tied as she will only be accepted with proof of annual booster!

Sounds about right :) As long as she has the opportunity to have some peace and quiet in her cage, then she will sleep if she needs it. I wouldn't worry too much about the jabs. I am in a similar position - the only way to have a holiday is to put my two in kennels. Lots of dogs have survived OK for years having the jabs. It is just a chance that you have to take that yours won't be the unlucky ones to have a bad reaction. But we'd never have dogs (or children) if we weren't prepared to take some considered risks :)
