Ive been up with bradley most of the night because he needs to go to the toilet every hour.  When he has made this decision we belt off to the back door but he wees and runs at the sametime. Is he just being lazy or do you think something is a little more sinister?

Sounds like an infection :(

Sounds like an infection to me too.  Emma take a sample of his wee to the vets with you, they will be able to tell straightaway then.

Poor Mr B,  it only started last night at about 7 30 after he had an amazing run around with Ollie a 4 year old boxer.  What causes the infection if it is one?  His wee is as clear as a bell its doesnt smell either.

Emma, it is usually a bug picked up somewhere, bit like if we get one.  It has all the signs of an infection, it doesn't always show as cloudy smelly wee.  A vet will put a dipstick into the urine and this will tell him if it is an infection by the colour the markers on the stick go.

If it is, it really is best not to delay, antibiotics need to be started quickly or he could start feeling ill.

Michelle,

If you or friends/family are travelling to America, do a raid on Walgreens for Uristat tablets ..... now they really do clear cystitis fast!

I dont mean to sound crass, but could Bradley be stressing  as he can sense that he is about to be shipped out?
It's amazing how dogs can pick up on our feelings,i'm sure my dogs can read my mind,i will be sitting there and start thinking about taking them for a walk and all of a sudden they start jumping around the front door before i have even stood up
I have had bladder infections in the past and i have connected them with stressful times in my life,it could all be a coincedence tho???

I would take him to the vet a.s.a.p as i know how painful and annoying bladder infections are~shudder~

Britney,i cant see how cranberry tabs. would be harmful to your granddaughter,i would much prefer them to drugs,it should give directions on the back of the bottle,i know if my daughter picked up a b.i i would try the natural alternative before the convential, same goes with my dogs.

Well thats wierd his wee problem has stopped,  should I still go to the vets?
- By sandrah Date 16.03.04 14:31 UTC
Emma

It seems strange it has stopped like that.  If it was me I would give the vet a ring, try and talk to a vet rather then the receptionist, as they always say bring him in.

It will put your mind at rest at least.

Although he dosen't get anything wrong with him,my 6 year old loves Cranberry juice. Not sure if it would have the same effect but it's perfectly safe in moderation.HTH
