My Blk/White B.C. is only 15mths old and shows so much interest in bitch dogs. Ialways said that when he was older i would look into using him for a stud dog, as i have had a lot of people interested in him.  We are going to ring craft and have his first junior open breed show next week we also compete at obedence so i am trying to get him known as his he is from a well known breed line. I also had a little good luck at ringcraft training the other day as the guy who helped us happen to be a judge for B.C. He said that he was a excellent example of the breed carries a lovely head and sound temperment, but i guess i would find this out for my self next week.  My question is if all  goes well and i put him to stud then how will this change him and his nature.  He has had his hips scored 5.left-7.right and due for his eyes to be tested on the 29th he was also ear and eye tested as a pup which obviously came back clear.

Hi Guest

If bitch owners like him when they see him around the show and obedience rings they will probably approach you.  Just in case this happens make sure you can reel off his pedigree name, parents and possibly grandparents names as well plus their relevant health results.

If he is "bitching" now he could get worse if you use him at stud and then only have one thing on his mind - which would make stays especially more difficult for you.

One thing to think about - are you prepared to take in any pups at any time during their lives of any offspring he sires if the breeders are not around to be able to do this?
