I am thinking of purchasing a puppy but I live alone and like many people I work full-time.  My only option will be to leave the puppy at home in the kitchen during the day and see it at lunchtimes.  Is anyone in the same position or have an opinion on this?

im in the same situation as you, i have a 11 month old rottie, i work full time - monday to friday 8am till 1pm then 2pm till 5pm, i make sure that my dog is walked in the morning, then at lunch, then once again when i get home from work, she seems fine with this, has never destroyed anything whilst in the house, it works well with us so hopefully it will work well for you

if you join guest its free, people will be able to help you more, find out what dog it is etc.

so long as you go home at lunch and take the first couple of weeks of work to settle it in and are prepared for toilet accidents and some destruction as it will be alone for a few hours aday and spend alot of time in the evenings with it theres abosulutely no reason why it should'nt work, just be very careful which breed you choose for ex, don't go for a boisterous energetic breed or a working breed

dogs get use to routine
