hiya ... my wife and I are considering going to rep of ireland for week next month, we wondered do the dogs need injection or bring any certificate for the dogs with us? as we're from Derby in UK.

No don't think so, just board the ferry and get off other end.

Just to be on the safe side if you have pet insurance check that it will cover the trip.

Dogs can travel freely between the UK and the RoI without any need for paperwork.  All the ferry companies will carry them, and most of the airlines.  Although the airlines will generally only take accompanied dogs - but you can often check the dog in as hand luggage, which means your dog can stay with you until loading time.  The airline will want to see the vaccination certificate, but only to check the vaccs are up to date

Hubby and i travelled by train and ferry from Essex to Southern Ireland last year. On the train nothing was said and the dogs didnt have any checks or paperwork for the ferry, but the ferry people said they had to go in kennels on the car deck, as they are very tiny chihuahuas and in carry bags we said no and they let us sneak them with us all the time on there and on the way back they just didnt see them!
