Sorry but if you need to enquire on a board such as this to find a stud dog then you do not have enough knowledge to embark on breeding. Rather than wanting to find a dog local to you you should be prepared to travel the country to find the best dog for your bitch. Have you been in touch with the breeder of your bitch to discuss this? Has your bitch had all necessary health checks, particularly, has she had her hips scored? No reputable owner will allow his dog to be used on an unscored bitch. I would suggest you get in touch with one of the breed clubs for further information.

Feel sure you may well have left it too late to find a suitable stud, you need to contact the breed club and see if they can suggest a stud that would be suitable for your bitch. Has your bitch been health tested and do you show her so people will have seen her and know if she is suitable for their dogs. Apart from the fact that the dog should be KC registered and health tested what other things are you looking for in order to correct any faults your bitch may have, like hight, colour, head or tail.

Most reputable stud dog owners would not consider using their dog on your bitch unless it is a good specimen of the breed, it is at least two years of age and not over 7. Also naturally you have had her hip scored and she is at or under the breed average of 13?
Breeding dogs is not just a question of putting a male and female together (that is just mating) but making sure that you have chosen lines which "nick" and complement each other, dogs that are physically and temperamentally sound and that demonstrate hunting instinct. You will of course be able to take back any puppies that "bounce" for any reason and have the knowledge and experience to help new owners so that you are not contributing to the many who end up in Rescue each year. You already have a list of potential customers waiting for your puppies. If you are not a member of either the WCGB or the WA you will be unable to put your litter on their puppy lists.
Breeding requires knowledge and forethought neither of which you have demonstrated by your post. Please do not breed from your bitch unless you take your responsibilities to your bitch, the breed and your customers seriously.
Hi Tracie
You may think the above posts are harsh and it is the sort of thing a lot of new members/guests complain about on this board but look at it another way.
Those of us who care about our breeds don't produce puppies to line our pockets (just the opposite in fact), show children what childbirth is all about or do it for the good of the bitch (this one is a fallacy anyway). We do it because we care about our respective breeds.
If you had worked your girl you would possibly have seen suitable males at Field Trials (bearing in mind what your breed was bred for) or if you had shown her you would have 1) found out how closely she fits the breed standard and 2) been able to talk to other owners who would discuss with you the good and bad points (in their opinions) of the various dogs/pairings/pedigrees etc.
After doing all this showing, going to sporting events you may find that the best dog for your girl lives in the North of Scotland or just around the corner and you would be prepared to travel to visit him
