While everyone busy watching the crufts final, i had a naming cermony and party to goto, as the party was at our house the two youngest dogs (bruce 15 week lab, jack 14mth spaniel) stayed at work, jack in the kennels with his mate baloo, and bruce inthe house with his sister Bo, my boss said that they were behaving themselves and werent causing too much bother other than the usual puppy stuff.
Anyway got to work today, walk into the back garden where bruce and bo were playing and the first thing i saw was bruces stomach it was huge and i mean huge he looked like he had eaten a basketball! went in and my boss said 'did you see the fatties? they ate a piece of steak, it was frozen!' i said not to worry they are playing theyre fine.
About an hour later her husband got up, and she 'confessed' to him, she told him that he had steak for dinner with chips etc, but now only had the chips and etc :) he asked why and she said that she got the 1 1/2 lb prime rump steak out of the freezer so that it could defrost and put it on the side, she went up stairs and when she came down half hour later she saw the wrapper on the floor. He asked how the pups got it and i said bruce very clever at reaching things off the sides :) then he asked if it was frozen (he was still asleep) when they ate it, and went into a panic, saying phone the vetits not good for them. So the vet was phoned and everything explained and when they asked for the names of the dogs and when told one was Bruce Blahblah they went 'oh right' (weve been so often to the vets were on first name terms with everyone :) ) the receptionist went and spoke to the vet who then came to the phone laughing and said that we had to wait for it to defrost before it would pass through.
So now there are two very contented puppies and no steak for my boss, gives a whole new meaning to 'your dinners in the dog' :D
