Which side of the foil do you use when roasting a bit of meat i.e shiney facing in or out. I always have it facing in to reflect the heat in, but my mum recons its shiney on the outside. Does anyone know the answer?
Thanks

This will be interesting Storm- cause I always do the same as you- shiny facing in to reflect the heat :-) But I am known as can't cook, won't cook ;-)

It depends what you are cooking. Roasts should be shiney side in.

I was so intrigued that I've just had a look at the instructions on the box. It says that either side can be used...............wait for it..............I guess it's just a matter of taste !!!!!!!.

LOL :D :D :D I suppose it depends on how foily you like your food :D. Thanks everyone :D , it's my mum thats cooking the roast this afternoon whos a vegetarian and hasn't done one for years. I wonder if they used to tell people to put shinney on outside and then changed their minds :) :) :)

A friend who used to work for Alcan says it makes no difference.
:)
