Hi
Can anybody suggest some games which can be played both in and out doors which would both mentally stimulate my Dal and help with bonding etc.
My dal is 18 months old and is a rescued bitch, see is strong minded but great fun. Just need to keep her intreasted and bond together more. This will I hope help to keep her happy and to encourage a better working relationship i.e. I a more reliable recall etc.
Many thanks

Tracking is a good way to mentally stimulate your dog. Contact your nearest working trials group and ask them for more info.

Dallies are strong willled, but normally bitches are easier than dogs :) How long have you had her? Dallies are notoriously greedy, so you could play hide and seek with some food, encouraging her to find it and giving her big fusses when she does. You will probably find that soon she won't let you out of her sight, and will be lying on the bathmat when you are in the bath, in the toilet with you etc etc :D

Tracking is basically training them to follow a scent trail. The Working Trials people will point you inthe right direction.

Hi,
ChloeH and Poodlebabe are right, I hide treats for Max in the garden and it keeps him occupied for ages. Dallies love tracking, also my son takes him running with him, although being a Dally you cant wear him out no matter how far you run. I find them very human oriented dogs and would rather spend time with you than another dog, Max follows me everywhere and hates to be left for more than a minute even with our Boxer.
