I have just had a phone call from someone saying they are from this company saying that they are updating info and asked if i lived at the address he stated also did i have any cats, how many dogs i had and even said the breed that i have,he also said it was because they send offers out to people,is this true?I think i have had things sent to me before.I am now worried about this call incase it was bogus,i stupidly confirmed the address but not the breed of dog i have.Has anyone else had any calls? Also the number was with held.I am really worried and shaking now as i type this.

Hi Duddles
I shouldn't worry.  I too had a call like that yesterday.  They said they were from Pedigree / Whiskers and were do market research and did I have any cats or dogs.  I told them what I always say to all telephone canvassers " Sorry, I never answer any questions over the phone.  Goodbye."  I wouldn't worry about a witheld number - most companies tend to withold their number anyway.  I think unless you're exdirectory getting these calls will happen.
Hope that helps
best wishes Jenny

As far as I know this is genuine. If you have ever filled in a form for freebies (samples etc) or entered competitions to win pet stuff they ask you for this info, and occasionally check it.
:)

Thanks, have had horrible feeling in my stomach its just you never know these days, a while ago i had a phone call from a woman claiming to be from littlewoods catalogue asking me to confirm details which i did'nt do that time i phoned littlewoods and they said they never phone customers for details,do'nt know why i gave them an answer this time what actually stopped me saying anymore was when he asked me how many dogs i had then stating the breed i have. With more and more dog thefts happening i was just scared.

My Mum does this and occasionally gets calls - she says she always gets something for the cats through the post afterwards

Its ok Duddles, I had a similar phone call a week or so ago.  It is pedigree masterfoods, and I asked them for a number I could confirm it on.  The number was correct, and the "update" survey is correct.
Dawn.

Yeah right Joe, come on admit it, you told them you had a cat to get the free samples.:)
You're so tight you fed norman the cat food as well as the free dog food samples. Lol.
