I have just had my collies hipscore back yesterday i thought it would be lower having looked down his lines.  Im not sure what i want to do with him yet i got his hips done three weeks ago and going to get his eyes tested end march.  At present i am taking him to breed shows and working him at obedience he is only 14mths and has a wonderful calm nature.  Hipscores were left 5, right 7  could this be a problem as he is a wonderful example of the breed and although i am a novice at the moment i am taking advice of people that have been there and done that.  If the person called john could give me some advice as you seem to have knowledge of the Border Collie.         Thankyou  Visitor.

There is nothing at all wrong with your dogs hip score. The breed average for the BC is 14 and your dogs is only 12 and 5:7 is quite an even score. So stop worrying if its under the average which it is then its a great score
Congratulations

Your score is good, as long as you mate her with a dog with a below average score you should be fine.  If you are worried why don't you talk to your breeder, I am sure she would like to know the result anyway.  Are you having her eyes tested at the club champ show?  I have been told not to have the adult eye tests done until mine is two years old, it might be worth checking that out, unless my breeder has it wrong.
