Hello
As you may know my 11 month old BC as possible HD. We took her to the vet again today and he is going to x-ray next week. I also mentioned the other day about the remedy that the lady from Canine Care group has sent me (Meant to really help HD), I asked the vet if it was ok to try this for a week or 2 and he was all for it, as he said that Homeopathy methods won't do any harm. He also advised using Glucosamine, as everyone on here has already suggessted (thanks for that) . The remedy is meant to start working within 4 days, so I'll keep you posted, the lady said it contains real bones! nice.
Anyway, I'm so glad we have spoken to the vet and I feel much more at ease about the whole thing now.
Rosie loved the fuss she got at the vets too!!!!
Thanks for all your advise on here, I think the vet thought I was a model owner when I was coming out with all this stuff about Glucosamine, Hydrotherapy etc etc!!!

If you at all can wait until she turns 12 months! The xray can then be scored under the KC?BVA scheme by a panel of experts. your average GP vet can be notoriously inacurate at grading hips from an xray. You should have a specialist look at them regsrdless, but being able to have them scored will be useful so that you will know just how bad they are, and it iwll add ststistics on the problem for the breed. I hope it isn't as bad as you fear.

yes wait till shes a year then you can get the plates sent off for scoring! you may as well know how bad/or not she is. its only about £25 xtra to get the plates sent off

Sorry to disagree with your vet, but homoeopathic remedies CAN be harmful which, if you read about the concept of homeopathy, you will come to understand.
The glucosamine or chondroitin is fine though.
Hi Tohme
I think it's only harmful if the wrong doseage is given etc, which the canine care group are going to keep a close eye on.
I could be wrong but she had her first dose last night so fingers x'd we see a difference.

True homoeopathic treatments are based on treating like with like; if you are treating a dog with the incorrect remedy then this can CAUSE a problem.
Correct diagnosis is just as important with homeopathic as well allopathic treatment.
