Any helpful advice on getting rid of ants would be appreciated. I've had a problem with them for the last couple of years, mainly in the kitchen. I think I've tried everything, trying borax mixed in with sugar at the moment but they're still coming fast and furious. Tried the powders, gels, council, specialized ant man, they go for a couple of weeks but come back with avengance. I know I've got no chance of getting rid of them until I find the nest but they are in the wall cavities so without knocking walls down I've got to pray they take something nice and tasty back to the nest to share with their friends. Any suggestions?
We used to get them in the garden and only once in the house (yuk, horrible things). We tried all sorts, (and stayed away from all sorts too, because of the dogs). We then heard about something called "Deathlac", (Enviromental Health recommended it). It comes in a green spray tin, and is about £3.00 (we got ours in Wilkinsons of all places!!!). We spray, then keep the dogs away from the area for about an hour, then hey presto, the ants start to die off and the dogs are not affected by it.
