I have an English Pointer pup.  I have been running her in the woods daily.  I am worried about her picking up poison ivy on her fur and passing it to me and the others in the family.  Is there anything that can help with this?

As we don't have poison ivy in the UK, this will be a question for our 'foreign correspondents'!

I would imagine you would need to wear gloves and clean her up outdoors before taking her into the house possibly?

I've never known a pup to bring home poison ivy oil on their body and then pass it on to humans.   Your pup would have to roll in the stuff to get in on her flanks, head etc -- otherwise she is only going to pick it up on the bottom of her paws.  And most of what she picks up will rub off with walking anyway.

My advice is not to worry about it.
