I have been having a few twinges over the last week or so but last night it came on all of a sudden. I went to bed with painkillers and a hot water bottle. Didn't get much sleep so have been to the Docs this morning. She has prescribed me Tegretol and said see how it goes and if I am still bad then come back in a week. :(

I have taken one and some painkillers and still in pain so taking myself off to bed now.

If anybody has any bright ideas as this is so horrible. Have had ear infections and toothache but nothing like this before :(

Yes I have ! The tablets I have been given are what are recommended but thought there might be some alternatives.

Didn't have a nap as had two chocolate monsters wanting to lie on top of me so just had an hours cuddling. Has made me feel a bit better :)

Hi Lucy,
You have my sympathy as I suffer from trigeminal neuralgia and when it gets really bad I feel like hammering my own head and face in! The only medication that I have found to work for me has been voltarol (diclofenac). I've tried stronger tablets but for some reason the voltarol hit it better than anything else.
Hope you're pain free soon.
Helen.

Thanks Helen.

I have found out this morning what is causing it. I was cleaning my ears out and nearly hit the ceiling as I have got a big spot right down in my ear

I was just concerned that I was having some problems back with my jaw as have had two operations on it and was thinking it was that rearing it's ugly head again !

Still in pain but hey ho a bit happier ! :)

Sorry haven't replied, been working day shifts again this week, not been on computer. Glad that you're feeling a bit better and that you've found out what the problem was. Sounds like a horrible place to have a spot :-O

Still there but not as bad :) I am a person who is prone to spots in funny places  As my Doctor has said I am a lumpy person ! :)
