Hi,
I have a beautiful "blue" staffordshire bull terrier bitch and would like to breed from her.
And i have a few questions:
1) I was told that if i mated her with a blue or a white dog with should get some blue puppies, is that true?
2) Does anyone know of a good quality blue dog that is avilable for stud.
I based in buckinghamshire, england.
Many thanks,
Julian.

Blue doesnt always throw a blue .
What colour are her parents out of interest ?
thanks for prompt reply lel!! that was very quick.
her parents, and 3 of her grand parents were blue. She is a blue / grey colour much lighter blue than a few blue staffys i have seen. In fact there are quite a few blues in her pedigree going right back to her gt: gt: gt: grandparents.
I would ideally like to find a good quality blue to breed her with but i was told white would still mean a few blue pups.

colour should not be your primary consideration....what about health tests, suitable lines that compliment you bitches, using a dog which excels in points that your bitch is poor in etc...
Blue is an unusual colour....it is not worth anymore than any other ...
If you find a suitable blue stud... I believe they often suffer from lack of pigment and light eye-colour ...both of which are breed faults.
Good luck in your search

thanks archer.
I agree that there are few blues which are show quality. Thats why i was wondering whether i was better to breed her with a really good quality white - so i would get quality pups, a few of which would be a blue colour.
and yes she does have light coloured eyes!!
