i have an alsation cross collie, its the time of the month for her (on heat) & on a knight i have other dogs jumping at my door trying to get into her. is there any way of stopping the other dogs i.e. is there anything i can put on my door steps to get rid of the smell?

You can buy bitch 'deoderants' but don't know how well they work.The best option for the future is to have her speyed before her next season...not only will it stop the dogs pestering but is beneficial to her health

Don't take her out for a walk when she's around the time she would be mated (say the middle week). Dogs will follow her scent for miles. Washing the step with bleach & water will help (rinse the bleach off after)
As Archer says - get her spayed, it will save you a lot of hassle.

Call the dog warden to remove the dogs from your door step as their owners are not being responsible letting them wander freely, I don't think you should be putting up with this at all.
