Anyone know what I can do for chapped legs - I remember my Mum using talc years ago, soothes it for a while - is there anything you can suggest?

Would imagine talc to be a bit drying - try baby oil :)

Try taking EFA (Fish Oil) supplements. Ideal if you have dry skin or eczema. It's done wonders for my scaly legs! Yuk!
For really dry skin run a bath at add Oilatum (SP?) bought at any chemist, and soak for about 30 mins 2-3 times a week. It's brilliant stuff and you will have silky smooth legs in no time. Always put some body lotion on after bathing/showering too, it acts better if applied to damp skin. Can recommend aloe vera in it's purest form for that.

I'm off to buy some Oilatum then, cos my leg is horrible after having a plaster on. Maybe try exfoliating first sweep? It certainly made my leg look a lot better.

Well I think it is chapped, it is on inner leg just above knee, it looks like sunburn but not as red, it also stings when I get in the bath, not painfull just uncomfortable.

If it is chapped because of the cold/wind once treated get some thermal longjohns! Everyone laughs until they get them and then they are converts!

I totally agree with thermal longjohns Jeff. They should be an essential part of every dog owners wardrobe. I personally would recommend Marks & Spencers Childrens version. The 13-14 yrs olds ones from the Childrens Department fit even a size 14 ladies, although probably not if you are tall (something I don't have to worry about). They are only about £5 a pair.
I spend quite a bit of time outside with my work and I wouldn't go to work without them! When my son plays football at the weekend, I am the warm one whilst everyone else is freezing!

sometimes legs can dry /chapp when they have been covered for so long fresh air clears it up for what reason i dont know , you ladys will vouch that in the summer with your legs bare they seem to get a new life of there own , unfortunalty its the dry winter air thats to blame and no oxygen getting onto the skin
