Topic Dog Boards / Health / Microchipping - bad experiences?
- By Louisexx [gb] Date 26.02.04 22:32 UTC
I''m considering getting my dog microchipped because in agility matches, they aren't allowed to wear any collars. Just wondering, has anyone had any bad experiences with microchipping or is it completely safe?

All mine are Microchipped and had no problems with it, although a friends Collie rejected 3 microchips and is now not chipped due to this, suppose it depends on the dog and its skin, etc....

There is a very informative thread on this subject in the FAQ forum: Microchipping

You could have your dog tattood as well as or instead of microchipping.

i have mirochip over 100 dog/cat at the moment no problem,

all type of breed have different types of skin some are soft and some are like leather, if the needle is put in the gun and held  right and put in the the right place bewteen the shoulder there should not be a problem, the age to chip from 8 weeks up wards.
