How can I stop my dog from biting a spot on her tummy, has anyone any ideas?

Hi ange,
Do you know what's caused this spot?  The only thing I can think of is a "plastic lampshade", you know, the ones you get from the vet.

Thank you Sarah I have got a lampshade up in the loft so I think I'll try that first coz if I can stop her biting I think  it would have a chance of clearing up.In the past my vet has always said how difficult skin problems are to treat so I'll give it a few days with the lampshade.Cheers.

Hi Ange
I would go to the vet and find out what it is??, maybe she has a flea bite and has had a very bad reaction to it. My Bichon is very sensitive to them. I'm not suggessting she has fleas, but I'd check anyway.

Has she had the rash for long, it could be that you have changed some floor cleaner or washed her bed in something different, Have a check through her coat and see if you can find black gritty bits at the base of her tails or around her neck, this could be a indication of flees, she could pick these up while out on a walk or if there are cats, but a tip to the vet would be reasureing for you

All the redness and the spot has gone now.Maybe it was fleas as I bathed her with Shaws Parapet Shampoo and that seems to have done the trick.
