Hi there

I live in Spilsby, Lincs and have a white/orange Spinone bitch I would like to breed from.

Her next season is due at the end of March when she will be 3 years old. If you can provide a stud dog please contact me.

You need to talk to the breeder of your bitch before you decide on a stud dog. Has your bitch had all the relevant health checks and are you aware of cerebellar ataxia in the spinone? Please investigate the matter thoroughly before you contemplate breeding from your bitch.

Just want to reinforce what Admin has said :)  If the breeder of your bitch is, for whatever reason,  unable to help, you will find on the same site that Admin has directed you to the contact email addresses for committee members of the ISCGB who will be able to help.  CA is an important issue in the Italian Spinone and because there is currently no test for it, it is essential to thoroughly research the pedigrees of both dogs and to adhere to the current guidelines on breeding.  Please contact your breeder/the ISCGB before you proceed :)

Another consideration is hips scoring.  In addition to the issue of CA, most stud dog owners will not put their dogs out to bitches that haven't been hip scored.
