Topic Dog Boards / Health / New puppy...HELP!
- By Donna [gb] Date 23.02.04 21:23 UTC
Hi, we brought our new puppy home this weekend and everything is going really well.  He hasn't had his injections yet, booked in for Wednesday and he has been going outside in our back garden to relieve himself but I have noticed today that he has yellowish gunk forming in the corner of his eyes.  Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong by allowing him outside.....is there anything I should be doing?

Hi,
Relax! It is incredibly unlikely to be connected to him going outside in your garden! If there is anything wrong, he had it before you brought him home. Keep taking him outside every hour or so during the day just as you are doing - treat him in the same way as you would if there wasn't a discharge from his eyes, until the vet tells you different. How is he in himself? Is he active, eating, playing? Are his poos normal? Or is he sleepy, lethargic, tetchy? Does he have the runs?

Thanks for that, you've put my mind at rest... apart from the discharge he absolutely fine, No I'd have to say he's just perfect!!

That's great! Enjoy him - that's what he's there for!
:)
