Hi,
I have posted about my partner being in CCU.
Since he's been in Hosp' our Ragga has lost a heck of a lot of weight.
She is currently fed 'complete'. She has been eating it but still lost weight.
What can I do to get her to put the weight back on???
I think she has just been fretting, she seems healthy enough, just a little under weight right now.
Vinnie has not stopped howling and insists on being on Dave's side of the bed.
Even last night when I was in it. Should I chase him downstairs or let him stay with me until Dave gets home???

Hi Dawn
Glad things are turning the corner for you and Dave :) We've got a dog whom we couldn't get body on, although he ate plenty as well as being well muscled and as fit as a flea etc. The vet recommended adding a little pure beef dripping to his food; we use about half a centimetre sliced off the block and chopped up well. The stuff you buy from actual butchers' shops is better than the stuff sold as pure beef dripping in the supermarkets. We've found no adverse effects from doing this, so perhaps its worth a try for Ragga? Just give her a tiny bit at first to make sure she tolerates it, then increase it over a few days.
As for Vinnie wanting to be on the bed, well maybe others will disagree, but I would let him stay there, not only to comfort him, but for your sake too :)
Take care :)
Lesley
All my dogs sleep on my bed, wouldnt have it other way ;)
The beef dripping sounds like a good idea, another recipe called "satinballs" will put weight on a dog in a matter of days!
Just type "satinballs recipe" into your search engine and it will come up with heaps of sites that carry the recipe.
good luck

ahhhhhh bless him sounds like he is missing his master, i would let him stay on the bed personally,
Heidi
