Just found this on www.pedigreedogs .co.uk and wondered how many of you have Nyabones for your dogs. An Alaskan malamute dog has chewed off a small amount of Nylabone and Died. This one was called the Plaque Attacker. For more info read the article.

It is the gumabone one that is more easily destroyed and is really designed for dogs that arent that destructive. Not the harder ones. Must say that I havent had probelms with any of the nylabone products but I suppose like any dog toy/product you should be careful because there will always be one of your dogs capable of destroying it!

Thanks for the advice. My SWD's have quite strong teeth and Lydia my 8 year old has broken a few small pieces off the Nylabone. I will go and look at the Pedigreedogs site now.

Agree Bec, the gumabone ones are much softer, my weim bitch destroyed one completely under my watchful eye so we don't buy the plaque attacker ones anymore. The harder ones so far have been okay, they occassionally manage to chew off very tiny bits but these are usually spat out and if they were to be swallowed should go down okay as they are very small. Still pays to keep an eye in them though :-)
