Hi,i was just wondering how much you people on here would expect to pay for an ultrasound scan to determine pregnancy in a bitch and roughly what the best time in duration should it be done??Thanks.

i only paid £10 but you can pay a lot more
you can have it done from about 28 days on words

I paid £20 at 30 days, for good news too. I know another local vet who charges £75!!! for the same. we dont use them. expensive does not mean better.

Hi guest, 30 days post mating is the best time to scan. :)

I paid £20 plus VAT and my vet likes them to be 35 days as before that they may still be under the ribs and then u can't see them as ultrasound can't scan through bone

I don't have mine scanned unless there is a problem - ie I think late on that there may only be one pup and a caesar will be needed.  Most owners, if they know their dogs well will be able to tell by differences in behaviour - little things like digging under trees to make holes, the occasional morning sickness around 3-4 weeks etc.

Where do you all live?? My vet charges £37 plus vat but still worth every penny :D We saw their little paws it was amazing...My vet scans after 30 days.
