Many of you may remmeber the fundraising efforts that I carried out during the Year 2000 as part of my KCJO Junior of the Year Project.
I raised £500.50, and this year I want to do some more fundrasing.
I will soon be writing to companies, businesses and organisations to see what donations I can get. I did this in 2000 and had a brilliant response.
I will be having the basic things like I had the first time, such as tombolas, raffles, sponsored events, donations etc. but I am hoping this year to try and do some more and raise even more money.
My sister last year raised over £600 for Beagle Welfare and had an exemption show, so I may have one this year, and she also printed off a book called Dog tales, which contained funny, sad, and interesting stories. She sold over 100 of these at £2 each.
I am wondering if anybody on this board can give me any ideas as to what I can do for my fundrasing that would make it seem different and grab peoples attention.
Thank You.

well i dont know if this is any help . when my friend and myself were raising funds for romanian babies we took some of our dogs to the city centre armed with blankets and a little platform not high ,just a pallet with covering we had a collection box and had a, pat a dog day in aid of the romanian babies, meaning we allowed people to rub the dogs for a donation. we had a good few of our dogs so they had turns in getting on pallet for the adoring children to stroke . we were out for about 4 hours and raised £1200.

I live in ireland mattie. I would only have to call in to my local police station and geta permit only so that it would not coincide with another charity collection on the same day .I guess you would need a permit to be on the safe side . but I did find it was a good money spinner as everyone loves to stroke a friendly dog ,or shake an offered paw my sophie had a great time as her favourite passtime is offering her paw

Hi Adam
Have you thought about organising a sponsored dog walk in your area. I have taken part in lots they're great fun and a good way to find new walks and new doggy friends. Make sure you have proper insurance cover etc and speak to your vet or RSPCA re welfare around this if you intend it to be a long walk. We also attended a puppy parade for charity a few years back. Was good fun - puppy owners had to produce worming and vaccination records before they could enter though as with dog walks.
Good luck.
