My 10 year old son has expressed an interest in shooting/retreiving etc. and he has raised the issue again after seeing a small scale pheasant shoot over Christmas. We have never been involved in field trials or anything and would welcome any info on how he could get involved. We do not have a gun dog breed although as some of you know I am "still" looking for a young Cocker bitch - but that's to start me off on my showing career!! He seems very keen and I have promised to try and find out about any clubs etc where he might be able to take a look.
Happy New Year to you all
Jackie
p.s. We are im Lincs.

Jackie,
Have a look at the
British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) website. They have a junior organisation: Young Guns, that is both educational and fun for young enthusiast's. If you contact them, they will offer advice on your nearest clubs and activities. Let us know how he gets on :-)
Happy New Year

Can you tell me more about the roadshow in Oxon as we live in Oxfordshire and I may be interested in going. Thanks

We're looking for two youngsters to carry the banners for 2 shoots at Crufts this year - any takers? (Organised by BASC) Haven't definitely got the OK to go yet, but it's probably on the cards. Free passes and a good day out
