Izzy is 18mths old standard poodle. She tends to always have loose poo sometimes with mucous in. Any advice?

What are you feeding and what are the ingredients exactly?

usually feed her tin foods, such as winalot, pedigree, etc with a small amount of mixer.  The tins have quite a high fat and protein content, should I try her with a dried food?

I would put her on a good quality complete food, like Nutro, Royal Canin or Burns.  If she is used to tin food you could try Nature Diet, which is a soft food but they only use good quality ingredients.  I am sure if you take her off the tinned and mixer you will see a marked improvement.

Personally if I fed commercial foods I would probably go for either a complete wet food such as Naturediet (meat, rice and carrots) or a complete dry such as Burns (meat, rice, vegetables) as both have no colourings, additives etc etc and should be kindest to the tum.  Both are farily easily available and Burns will deliver.

I have always found that tinned pedigree Chum makes my dogs very loose. I find the best tinned foods to use are either Chappie or Denes, or a carton of Naturediet. Both Denes and Naturediet are quite pricey though.
