Hi there this is going to sound a really stupid question.My shorthaired chihuahua was mated to a long haired chihuahua.Anyway she had puppies but when and how can you tell which puppies are shorthaired and which are long or which are in between.Its just they all look the same.

I read that a newborn longcoat Chihuahua has a ridge of hair down its neck and spine, whereas the smooths don't. How does registration work for a mixed litter like this? Or won't it be possible? (I don't know very much about Chis.)

no its not possible to register them.as the kc now see the smooth coat and longhaired chis as 2 seperate things.Its a shame really cause some of the nicest coats came out of a mixture of the two.But who cares you still have to love the little handbag dogs.
