I have a bitch who is , i hope at the end of her 1st season, she is 21 days into her season. i have a entire boy at home as well, i have keep them apart, not an easy task but it hasn't been to bad!

My question is when is it safe to let them play together, she has passed her prime time of the season but i have heard a few different times when to let them back together. One has said after day 16, not sureabout that, but someone has told me that they had a bitch that mated and tied on as late as day 24. Do i wait until her vulva has gone back to normal, she still has a slight discharge of blood.

In part, I would recommend being led by his reaction to her.  Of course this means being highly observant too but it will become quite clear when he is no longer interested in her, or her in him.

I am sure others would be able to give more advice.

i always ay don't pu them together for minimum 4 weeks but i know someone whos gsd was mated on day 54 and had a litter so be warned!!!!!

I had a bitch who mated on days 18 and 20 of her season (planned!) and she had a successful litter from it. I personally would wait until all discharge has stopped, bath her thoroughly and wash all her bedding before you let her back with your dog.

Friends Dalmatian was only able to be mated day 21-23 of her season.  they vary widely, so be careful!
